Author Note: This story has been a true labor of love. I set out to portray a story about a trans character as authentically as I could while not being trans myself. I hope I succeeded. There are several hard topics that get vaguely mentioned and aren’t completely handled on screen. This was a purposeful choice to try and mimic some storylines seen in 9-1-1. Finally, there is character bashing here for the Buckley and Diaz parents, Maddie Buckley and Chimney Han. A warning to Eddie fans that he is not looked upon favorably at points, but by the end he does put in the work and redeem himself.

Summary: Evan Buckley always wanted to be a parent. When his wish is complicated by the fact that he doesn’t have a partner, his best friend steps up to the plate. The journey to parenthood won’t be easy, but Buck has his closest family and friends on his side.
