Summary: During Yule of Harry’s fifth year, he finds something in the Chamber of Secrets that answers questions he hadn’t realized he had, but he keeps the knowledge hidden until he can’t anymore. Resorting to Dark Magic isn’t something he thought he’d do, but the changes it wrought aren’t ones he regrets because the alternative would have made things worse.

Notes
I admit to being heavily influenced by Keira’s stories, and it’s reflected in my works, with thanks sent back to Keira for the brilliance of her stories which I love. I borrowed the Dverger as I agree wholeheartedly that the word Goblins is the worst sort of insult to a magical species. I also used the concept of family magic, though I feel I expanded on it and made it somewhat more powerful and influential. If people see similarities with other works, I can’t actually argue as I spent three months binging any and all sorts of Draco/Harry fanfics so this is a work of labour and love that I offer to those who have inspired me.
In regards to character bashing, I tried to keep it somewhat realistic and not a cartoonish caricature of themselves though I may have failed somewhat in Dumbledore’s backstory I added to it somewhat liberally. I also have it labelled as Weasley bashing in regards to Ginny, Ron, and Molly, though I don’t like either of the siblings and have minor issues with Molly, it is mostly against Ginny. Ron and Molly’s individual actions will be explained. Some could also see it as Remus Lupin and James Potter bashing though in their defense, they were influenced by spells from the time they started at Hogwarts, so their actions aren’t exactly their own.
As for the Drug use tag(no actual usage by characters), I know this is a fantasy realm and Harry Potter doesn’t necessarily have drugs in the traditional sense, but I have added it as a plot devise to explain the similarities with drug withdrawal vs magical withdraw and in this case potion withdraw.

Who’s tomb did Bill find in Egypt? You never said and I just can’t figure it out.
In my head it was Cleopatra, I rebuilt Harry’s entire family tree, it kind of comes out in others stories I’ve written that have nothing to do with this story specifically I just reused the same historical premise, though I can’t for say any are posted on A03.
