Heaven Official’s Blessing is my fav book series and anime, and this fic captures the characters perfectly. The quiet strength and discipline of Xie Lian and the playful devotion and support of Hua Cheng are perfectly written, and the slow, intense progression of their relationship was beautiful. I generally don’t like smut (boring! mechanical!) but here the scenes left me breathless. I laughed when Xie Lian decided to renounce his vow of celibacy. I also loved how Xie Lian’s misfortune was balanced by Hua Cheng’s good luck. A lovely piece.
